ZipList Virtual Recipe Box, Meal Planner, and List Maker

With all the snow and cold weather we've had I've not been to school enough lately I went to school on Monday this week and that was it, so I don't really have any great educational insights for you (like I do anyway..haha), but I do have a pretty neat site to share with you called ZipList

It is an online recipe box, meal planner, and grocery list maker and it's FREE!!! It has made finding and trying new, healthy recipes so much easier!

When you sign up for an account you just drag the recipe clipper to your bookmarks bar, then anytime you find a recipe you like you just click on the recipe clipper and, Ta-Da, you've got it forever!

Here is a screen shot of me clipping from Allrecipes, but I mostly get my recipes from blogs and this is such much easier than pinning them all or printing them!

Here is my ZipList recipe box and the new recipe I just added. When you hover over the picture it gives you the option to add it to your list and plan it as well. I've started using both these features and I love them!

Here is my grocery list for the week. You can create a standard list that you can just add to each week, which I think is a great time saver. I shop each week, usually on Friday or Saturday, so I like that I can get a start on my list earlier in the week and not lose the paper it's written on!

And you know there's an app for that!! Just tried this out for the first time last weekend and it was great. The list is broken down into sections, so I wasn't running all over the store because I'd forgotten cheese in the dairy section!

ZipList does not know I exist, I just think it's a really neat site and app that is a great timesaver and who couldn't use a little extra time?

How often do you shop? Daily, weekly, monthly? Some weeks I feel like I should just get a 2nd job at the grocery store because I'm there every day!! haha

  2. Woooooow! This is like a life changer! I am going to HAVE to check this out!! I detest the grocery store. I like to cook but hate meal planning, list making, and the shopping! I rarely got to the grocery store which is bad considering I have 3 kids. Sigh. This may help me a ton! Thank you!!!

  5. This sounds like a really neat program. Thanks for sharing!
Also, I'm experiencing the same "no school" type thing you are. We've had 8 snow days since winter break....and it's currently snowing with predictions of blowing and drifting tonight...and a high of -5 predicted for Tuesday, so the pattern of closings may continue...

  6. This looks awesome! I am definitely going to have to check this out and I think I'll send it to my daughter who is off at college. She is experimenting with different recipes so this will be great for her too!
I feel your pain with the snow/cold day business. We lost time last week and it is looking like we will be losing tomorrow too thanks to another polar vortex bringing in -40 windchills along with blowing and drifting snow. :-( I am so ready for Spring!
