Ink Friendly Birthday Celebrations {FREEBIE}

Birthdays are such a big deal for kiddos! And they are so easy for teachers to forget. Can I get an amen?

This year I want to do a little more for my kiddos to celebrate their birthdays and I wanted to share my plan with y'all!

These simple half-page birthday cards are black and white, so I will be printing those on cardstock and letting the birthday boy or girl skip morning work and color instead *gasp*! You could also do some colored paper here if you'd like. I'll have all my little darling sign the back of the card.

I also came up with some little black and white tags to add to a crazy straw. I got a pack of 6 straws for $1 at the Dollar Tree. That means for $4 and a few minute cutting I am ready for birthdays for the entire year and I'll have some happy kiddos!

VA is for Bloggers - Southern Hospitality Freebie Blog Hop

Hi everyone! It is a very exciting day - I'm joining in on my very first blog hop! A lovely group of Virginia bloggers would like to help usher in the new school year by extending a bit of southern hospitality. You can follow along the blog hop to visit 20+ Virginia teacher blogs for terrific teaching tips and fun freebies to help get your new school year off to a great start.

I've created a great Back to School freebie for grades PreK-6. Just print the tag, punch two holes, slide it on a glow bracelet, and let the fun begin!

I plan on giving these out to the kids who come for Open House a few days before school starts. I think it'll be a great way to get them excited about coming back to school and create some buzz about the new year.

These were actually tested by a 4th grader and 1st grader and were deemed "cool", so that's a go in my book! The best part about these: the Dollar Tree sells packs of 5 and sometimes 7 glow bracelets! That makes this a very low cost B2S treat!

Just click on the picture below to download the freebie! It contains tags for grades PreK-6, so just print what you need. I printed mine on neon colored cardstock to match the bracelets.

Head on over to Teach Love for the next stop in the hop!

Monday Made It, Freebie, and a Winner

Happy Monday!! Wow! I can't believe it is already July, so I've really kicked into high gear this morning and I'm getting a lot accomplished! I've got a few fun Made Its to share with you today!

I know some of you just got out of school, but my Summer days are numbered, so I'm already working on some BTS (my shorthand for Back to School) goodies.

I printed and cut these adorable little tags to add to a baggie of Lucky Charms on the first day.
You can click here to download a free set. These are NOT my original idea and the link will take you to the place I downloaded my labels from last year. This year I have a Silhouette Cameo, so I decided to take this idea and create something I could cut and print from the Silhouette. That was so much faster (and prettier) than cutting out all those little circles by hand! If you have a Silhouette and would like the file just leave me a comment with your email and I'll send it your way!

I also created a Find Someone Who sheet that I plan to do with my kiddos on the second day of school. I know there are a 1,000,000 of these out there, but it seems like not a lot of them fit my kiddos so I just whipped one up. You can click on the picture for your free copy!

I've also been using my Silhouette Cameo to play around with making some t-shirts.

I cut my racking horse out of freezer paper, ironed it on, and the sprayed around it with a mixture of 70% bleach and 30% water. Then I washed it out and threw it in the washer! You can read the whole tutorial (including how to do this without a Silhouette - easy peasy) here.

I will confess that this was my 3rd try. The first two turned out okay, but I didn't iron the paper down enough and the bleach got under the edges of the image so the lines weren't as crisp as I wanted them to be. This really was a very quick, easy project and this shirt was $2.50 at Wal Mart!!! I snagged it on clearance over the weekend.

TIP: I tried this with one of the Gildan $3.50 shirts in the craft section and didn't have any luck with that shirt.

Now on to the winner of the $10 TPT Gift Certificate from the Show Us Some Bloglovin' Giveaway. Drum roll...........
Sarah, congrats and be sure to check your email!!
