Monday Made It: Silhouette Fun and a Pillowcase

Happy Monday! It's certainly a happy one for me because I'm on my way to the beach!! It's been 12 years since I've been and I feel like a kid at Christmas!

I'm linking up with Tara to share a few projects I've managed to squeeze in during my first full week of Summer break!

After owning my Silhouette Cameo for over two years I finally decided it was time to try making some car decals. I loved how this one turned out! I have already ordered a big batch of vinyl and I can't wait to get started creating!

I also used the Silhouette and some full page labels to make stickers for my Erin Condren Life Planner. I'm really excited about all the possibilities with this!

I dusted off the sewing machine and made this pillow case for a friend's little boy.

That fabric was just too cute! This was also my first try at the burrito style pillow case and I was surprised at how easy it was! I'll definitely be making more of these this summer.

My last made it has been on each picture in this post - a new watermark for my pictures. I used this fantastic tutorial from I Teach. What's your super power?

It was very easy to follow and I love that I can add a watermark from my phone because that's what I use to take most of my pictures. If you need some blogging tips be sure to check out her site!

Greater Than Less Than and Compare and Contrast {Five for Friday}

It's Friday. We've made it through to the other side. I walked outside one night this week, looked up and said, out loud, "Well that explains so much."

I'm linking up with Kacey from Doodle Bugs to celebrate the start of the weekend!

It snowed on Monday. We knew it was coming, but we went to school on a regular schedule and stayed all day long!! I'm whining really...there was really not a lot of snow to speak of, but we've had so little and every other district around us had an early dismissal. In years past this would've been enough to close us, but times are changing!! We live in a very rural county and the back roads get bad in a hurry....

My little friends were having a hard time with greater than and less than this week. I cut out some signs using my Silhouette Cameo and we used them during class. First, we looked at some problems on the Smartboard and they held up the signs. Then, we did this worksheet and they were able to move the sign around on their desks. Last, we had a little fun..who couldn't use a little fun, right?

We turned the signs into math gators, complete with a math sentence.

It was an exciting math day. I love getting to do projects like these just as much as the kids do!

We've spent a lot of time on compare and contrast lately, so I decided to change it up a little this week. The kids worked in pairs to compare different scenes in our story this week.
post its = instant fun.

The Sunday Superbowl Sale in a lot of TPT stores caused me to get clip art fever, like I needed any help! Since then I've been updating the covers of some of my TPT products. Here are two of my favorites!

I got an iPad Mini this week!! I've been debating about getting one, but finally decided to go for it last week and it arrived on Wednesday!  I'm having so much fun playing with it.

Question of the week: What apps do I need to download?

Last Monday of the Summer {Monday Made It}

This is my last Monday off this summer. I go back to school on Thursday and the kiddos come back on August 6th. Yikes! I can't believe it's already time and I'm not quite ready yet. I've been working in overdrive to get through my long to-do list and that means I've been making some things, so I get to link up with Tara for this week's Monday Made It!

I'm gonna spare you the very boring paperwork, tedious to-the-minute lesson plans, and copies I've made this week! I'm also still hoping there is a little classroom fairy that will be visiting me this week. If you see her please tell her I'm waiting....

I've been spending a lot of time in my classroom working on getting things in order. I've been using my Silhouette to cut out some bulletin board letters.

This one will be for the display where students will store their brag tags.

This one will go on a narrow little window on the door in my classroom.

The font I used is my favorite bulletin board font of all times - MTF Jumpin' Jack

I am so excited about having the beginnings of my bulletin boards up. I have to share just a little sneak peak.

Remember the rocking chair? I found the green cushion at Pier 1.

I gave this little Back to School Freebie a face lift this week.

Click on the picture to download it! This was one of my favorite activities to do with older kids on first day of school!

And finally I have a home made it.

I canned green beans! I think fresh green beans are the prettiest shade of green. Really, I think they should be their own paint color. Don't you?! It's just a happy color.

These are gonna be so good when it's snowing outside!

{Monday Made It} Silhouette Cameo Style

It's the best time of the month - Monday Made It!! I just love seeing what everyone else has been creating! I was enjoying my Christmas break a little too much to link up last month, but I'm back to join Tara from 4th Grade Frolics in all the fun!

I'll start out with the one and only school made it for this month.

I got my Valentine gifts ready to go early this year!!! I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the hearts and it made the project super easy!

Now for the home made its. I'm gonna back up to Christmas, shameful I know, but this was one of my favorites and I just had to share.

That little heart is my little piece of VA! Since my sister moved to the "big city" I thought this would be the perfect touch for her home away from home.

Here it is up in her house. I love this wall - it's so her!

Finally, what February post would be complete without some Valentine's Day cards?

I'm a sucker for Valentine's Day!!

Sign, Restroom Passes, a Calendar, and a Freebie {Monday Made It}

Happy Monday! I'm back at work today, but I've decided to make it a happy Monday anyway! I've been very busy creating and making things to get ready for the start of the school year. I'm linking up with 4th Grade Frolics for Monday Made It to showya what I've got!

I couldn't get past this quote and I had an extra canvas in the craft closet AND I was procrastinating, so I made this sign!

I think it fits perfect on the shelf right behind my desk! I used my Silhouette to cut out the vinyl letters, spray painted over them, and then peeled 'em back off! It was way easier than I thought!

Used some more vinyl to make these restroom passes. Am I the only person who had trouble getting the label to come off the bottle? I finally had to soak it in OxiClean!

I made this calendar for my BFF, who happens to be a guidance counselor. She just moved into a new office and had some extra wall space, so I thought this would be perfect!

Last, but not least, I made these great bracelet tags to give out at our Open House night. I made tags for PreK-6 grade.

Want a set for your class? Just click on the picture to head over to my post from yesterday's VA is for Bloggers Blog Hop. While you are there click around to meet some other great VA bloggers!

I'm going to miss my usual Monday afternoon sitting on the porch reading Monday Made It posts in my pjs! At least I'll have something to look forward to after work today! What have you created this week?
